This sure seems to be a hot issue. The yahoo digitalradio group seems to be very much for this proposal. QRZ, Eham and other forums are really buzzing over this.

Being relatively new in ham radio I don't know who to believe or what to think.

One thing that is very apparent is there is no consensus among hams. Looks to me that this debate has been brewing a while and will continue for years. Looks to me that this debate will be another code vs. no-code.
