ARRL Strategic Plan Development
At the July 18-19, 2008 meeting of the ARRL Board of Directors, they voted to to develop a timeline to review and revise the ARRL Strategic Plan. They also directed CEO David Sumner, K1ZZ, to release the plan to the membership and to solicit comments from members. Accordingly, the 2006 ARRL Strategic Plan was recently posted to the ARRL website with an invitation to share your thoughts about a revision of this plan, which is to take place in 2009. I would encourage all of you who have any interest in how the ARRL works to review this plan and enter a comment or two. Here’s the intro paragraph:
In July 2006 the Board devoted the second day of its meeting to a revision of the League’s Strategic Plan. The document was refined by the Executive Committee in October 2006 and adopted by mail vote of the Board later that month. The Board intends to conduct a top-to-bottom review of the Strategic Plan at its July 2009 meeting. As a part of the process leading up to that review, the Board would like to hear from you. You are invited to share your thoughts on the future direction and priorities of your national association. For more background on the strategic planning process, see the September 2008 QST editorial.
There are already several good comments to consider.
In addition, WA3ZRM has started a thread on the strategic plan on the QRZ.Com Forums. Lots of good stuff in there (along with some of the usual ARRL-bashing as well).
